Whole wheat cookies in a cooker! Let's bake!

Hey readers! you must have come across some cake recipes in a cooker. Hey! you can bake cookies in a cooker too!

Another thing is, there are a lot of biscuits and cookies in market claiming that they are healthy. For example, oats, atta, honey etc but let's face it there are a lot of chemicals and preservatives. Let's just give it a try to make em at home!

You just need:

  • Whole wheat/ atta flour 1 cup
  • maida/ All purpose flour (optional) 1 cup or wheat flour- 2 cups
  • 1/2 cup sugar/ jaggery powder
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1 cup melted butter/ ghee
  • Some drops of natural vanilla extract/ vanilla essence
  • Baking powder- 1 1/2 spoons
Let's bake bakers!

step 1: In a bowl, Add the butter and jaggery powder and mix them trying to avoid lumps. If there are lumps, it's fine but make sure the sweet is sufficient.

step 2: Add the flour, baking powder, vanilla and make the dough and chill it.

step 3: Now separate the balls and make cookie shapes as you like.

step 4: Now, take a pressure cooker ( You better take old one for baking if you want to avoid damage), spread some sand/ salt to make the oven temperature/ atmosphere. Put a stand base which doesn't have rubber underneath (coz rubber melts and damages the cooker). Take off the whistle and cover the lid and preheat it for 5 minutes. BE CAREFUL AT THIS POINT!

step 5: Now, take a baking base and some butter to avoid sticking the dough. Place the cookies on base and keep on stand in cooker.

step 6: Close the lid and cook the cookies for some 15-20 minutes on low flame. Don't raise the flame as it might overcook it.

step 7: After some 10 minutes keep checking the cookies if they are done. You will know if they are done when you find a browned base like this. At this point, cookies are still soft. Don't panic. Turn off the stove and place them with closed lid for 10 minutes.

step 8: Gently remove the cookies and place them on grill stand till they get hard and cooled down.

You can store the used salt for baking in a container for the next recipe. NO need to throw it.

Your cookies are ready! Have them with your fav milk/ tea or coffee.

These are my other batch which i made a while ago:
