Simple omurice- Omelette wrapped fried rice

Heya! so i have been into some egg recipes lately, craving omelettes, I used to drool over some expert made japanese silky omurice recipes, well let's face it that 'ton ton' technique is sooo hard, so i have searched for some more easy inspirations from my favourite channels. I finally decided to make it simple and wrap the soy sauce and ketchup flavoured fried rice with omelette!

If you don't know about this before i hope you learned something new and hope you try it and love it!

You just need:

  • 2 eggs
  • a bowl of rice
  • ketchup
  • soy sauce
  • your fav veggies
  • some salt and pepper
  • some cheese! if you want
  • some butter

Try it now!

step 1: Take some butter in pan, fry the veggies.

step 2: Add the rice and fry for some time. Add some ketchup and soy sauce. Don't forget salt!

step 3: Now keep the rice aside for a while and whisk the egg whites and yolks by adding some salt and pepper separately. ( You no need to do that if you don't want that garnish effect. you can make regular omelette) . Add some more butter and make the omelette.

step 4: Cover the pan with lid till it cooks (5 mins) (if you like half boiled its good if not, put the lid till the omelette completely cooks. ) You can do the following pattern as shown below. If not, you can make regular omelette.

For the pattern, first fry the yolk mixture, cut the omelette and take off some stripes and pour the egg white mixture and cook it.

step 5: Take the cooked rice on omelette and wrap the rice in it as you like and serve it with tomato ketchup! Japanese love the ketchup. I guess we should try too!

It looks rustic but hey! It tastes like heaven with ketchup😋
