Instant Dhokla in both cooker and oven

Hi guys! SO! Our world has wide variety of cultures, traditions, recipes! In india, we have multiple varieties of cuisines in indian cuisine itself! let's try this gujarati delicacy today 😋


You need these ingredients which are easily available at home!


  • Besan flour/ chickpea flour/ gram flour/ pulse flour
  • Eno fruit salt ( 1/2 packet) or ( baking soda )
  • some pinch of salt
  • chilli powder, hing/ asafoetida, ginger garlic paste, (garam masala, coriander powder optional)) 1 spoon each
  • 1 1/2 spoon sugar
  • mustard seeds, curry leaves and some coriander.
  • 1 spoon oil
  • a pinch of turmeric
Let's start the procedure!

step 1: In a bowl, take some besan flour, add all the spices, salt, sugar, turmeric, Eno and oil. Add some water and make the batter until it gets the consistency in the following way.





When you add eno/ baking soda, the batter bubbles up and gets froth in the following way. Immediately transfer into baking tin.





step 2: Bake it with the temperature of 350-375 degrees fahrenheit/ 180-190 degrees celsius, 20-30 minutes. Basically a Moderate temperature oven if you are using heating oven (15-20 minutes). Heating oven bhi chalta hai😉


OR

Take a cooker, ( I prefer an old cooker)  Pour 2 medium glasses of water in it, Put a rubber less stand on it (coz rubber melts while heating and damages the cooker). Take off the whistle of lid and preheat it for 5 minutes.

Now, In Take the baking friendly tin and pour the batter and place it on stand. Close the lid WITHOUT whistle and cook the dhokla for 10-15 minutes on low flame. Make sure it doesn't burn.

OR
 you can even steam it in electric cooker/ steamer/ idli steamer.

After it's done, Check it if it's finished by a toothpick or a knife or spoon



step 3: In a small thali pan, Add a spoon of oil, Add a spoon of mustard seeds and 1 stalk curry leaves. When they splutter, Add some sugar as per your taste and 1/2 glass of water. When the mixture slightly thickens, take the pan off.


step 4: With a spatula, slightly spread the mixture on the dhokla.


Cut it and serve!
