Hi people! How are you doing! Today, let me introduce you one of authentic rajahmundry ( south indian) delicacies. This recipe is a healthy recipe for a morning breakfast and different from usual idlis. Without much ado, let's start this delicious dish. 😉
You just need:
You just need:
- Idli ingredients: 2 cups Idli rawa, 1 cup urad dal, Some salt for taste, Peppercorns, Some Jeera.
- Jackfruit (panasa) leaves
- Some Ghee/ oil
That's it! Let's start!
Step 1: In 2 cups rawa and urad dal, add sufficient water to make thick idli batter and grind it in idli grinder. Keep aside for 1 hour or you can ferment it for 1 day in fridge.
Step 2: Before steaming idlis, take out the batter, add a pinch of salt, some handful peppercorns and jeera for added taste and mix it thoroughly until everything gets incorporated.
Step 3: Now, take one jack fruit leaf, wash it and bring the corners together and attach them with it's small stem pieces and form a cone shape as shown below.
Step 4: Put the cones in small glasses so that the batter stands still without wastage. Add the batter upto the top of cones and put them in idli cooker and steam them for 15 minutes.
Step 5: Now, Take them off the glass and put them on greased plates of cooker for 5 minutes more.
That's it! Take them off the leaves slowly and gently and serve them with chutney.
The nutrients from the leaves get transformed into the idli and keep us healthy.
