Kalakand (milk cake)- The royal sweet- Just milk and sugar!
Ola! How are you doing! Let's dive into some traditional indian desserts. Are you ready? It's so easy that anyone can make it and experience it's taste. Without much ado, let's do this!
You just need:
- 5 cups milk
- 4 cups sugar
- 4 cardamoms (elaichi)
- Saffron (Kesari)
- Ghee
That's it! Let's start the procedure.
Step 1: First make the paneer. Boil 2 cups of milk, when it boils, add 1 spoon lemon juice/ vinegar and curdle the milk. Strain the paneer and put it aside.
Step 2: Now, add 3 spoons ghee into the kadai. Boil other 2 cups of milk. Reduce it till it gets thick and creamy in the following way.
Step 3: When milk gets completely reduced, add the paneer, sugar, cardamom (elaichi) and saffron. Mix everything together gently. Check the taste and add more sugar and ghee if necessary.
Step 4: The mixture gets this thick consistency in the following way. After this, Transfer it to a ghee spread plate, arrange it in the following way. Keep it in the fridge for 30 min to 1 hour.
Step 5: After it's chilled, Cut it into pieces, Garnish it with dry fruits and serve!
