Apple Pocket Pies

Hey people! How are you doing? Most of you must have made so many pies, pastries and desserts. But, we all know that making a perfect apple pie is a hell lot of work. We must make dough, filling, assembling etc. The effort should be worth the taste. It is so much time taking right? why not improvise it? No oven and no yeast! Let's make it simple yet tasty. Are you ready?



You just need:


  1. 1 cup maida flour (All purpose flour) and 1 cup atta flour ( Whole wheat flour)
  2. 1 spoon baking powder
  3. A pinch of salt
  4. Butter
  5. 1 medium sized apple
  6. 1 cup Brown sugar
  7. 1 spoon Cinnamon powder
  8. 1 spoon lemon juice
  9. Oil for deep frying
Let's start the procedure:

Dough:

Step 1: In the flour, add salt, baking powder, proportions mentioned above. Mix it. Add water and make a dough.




Step 2: Separate the dough into two dough balls. Take 1 ball and flatten it with the rolling pin. Here, spread 1 chunk of butter on the flattened dough and close as shown below. Roll again.






Step 3: Keep the flattened dough sheets in fridge for 1 hour.



Filling:

Step 1: Meanwhile, In a pan, add 2 spoons of butter. After heating it, add sliced/ chopped apples (After slicing apples peeling off the skin, sprinkle some lemon juice on top of them so that they won't change into dark colour) 






Step 2: Now, add the brown sugar and crushed cinnamon powder and cook it until it gets reduced.




Step 3: Take off the stove and cool it down.

Assembling:

Step 1: Now, take the pastry sheets, roll them thin, Cut them into squares as shown below.




Step 2: On one sheet, Put 1 spoon apple filling, Close it with other sheet on top of it by sealing sides with water. You can make design on the sides with a fork as shown below.




Step 3: Heat the oil sufficient for deep frying. Put it on medium flame and fry the puffs till they turn into golden brown colour.




That's it! Take them off and serve!
